The Ultimate Hurricane-Resistant Light Design

  • 170 MPH rated poles.
  • Hardened solar panels are resistant to flying debris.
  • Hardened mounting brackets support the solar panel in wind gusts. We also mount the solar panels lower on the lamp post to provide it with more support and to distribute wind load more evenly.
  • Well-ventilated lights prevent water accumulation and allow the lights to continue to function throughout the storm, providing added lighting coverage for rescue crews and a faster recovery time after a disaster.
  • Improved waterproofing means that all of the connectors are sealed to prevent water entry and protects the circuits in driving rain and swells.

Our Research and Design Center in Lancaster, SC went back to the drawing board. 

We started by optimizing the LED configurations and lighting spread. We’re able to offer a wide array of light colors to come closer to matching your existing installations and reduce eye-strain on drivers.  This also allowed us to offer the best lighting coverage with the lest amount of power draw, creating a more efficient lamp.

We use the Phillips 160-170  lumen per watt LED chips in our manufacturing. 

Knowing that most of our clients live in harsh climates, we built our lamps with added ventilation to prevent overheating. Specifically, we designed the ventilation to discourage dust and lacerate deposition to keep the sand and dust from settling on the lamp.

We also focused on creating a better charge controller. Our charge controller allows for more efficient energy management to stretch the lifespan of your batteries and allow you to capture more electricity for every minute of sunshine.

We then stand behind our with a 5-year warranty on the entire luminaire.

Our lights offer Easy Assembly and Disassembly, with a heat ventilation design to avoid dirt and dust buildup.

A Better Panel

In ocean-front installations water, wind and salt are the three harshest elements that we must contend with. To reduce the costs of wind damage, we chose a monocrystalline panel.  This panel is extremely resistant to high winds. We then pair it with a pole and mounting bracket that is designed to hurricane specifications.  

We are also excited to offer a more efficient panel. Thanks to next-generation engineering, our panels provide up to 50% more power per unit area while maintaining a lowered voltage-temperature coefficient. This allows the panels to operate well in low-light conditions which means they collect electricity from the first hint of a sunrise to the last possible moment of a sunset.

A Patented Solar Charge Controller

Our charge controller uses patented MPPT  ( Maximum Power Point Tracking) charging technology. This allows our controller to increase charge current by up to 30% more over conventional solar charge controllers. More power for less cost!

This added current capacity enables us to manage better, store, and conserve energy which means you get the most out of each solar panel.

We also can network these solar charge controllers together. This gives up to 8 controllers the capacity to communicate with one another and act as a single controller. This works great for Smart City Technology.
